Zita
Zita Folkets Bio is Stockholm’s oldest still-operating cinema, established in 1913 and located on Birger Jarlsgatan 37 near Stureplan. As part of the non-profit Folkets Bio network, Zita is dedicated to showcasing independent, international, and art house films that often don’t appear in mainstream cinemas. The venue features three screening rooms with seating capacities of 140, 40, and 30, respectively. Zita hosts numerous film festivals, special screenings, and cultural events throughout the year. All regular screenings are presented in their original languages with Swedish subtitles, and some festival films offer English subtitles. Additionally, the on-site Bongo Bar provides food and beverages before and after screenings.
